From Run DMC to John P Kee there was the same amount of interest of the two. Once the arrival of Kirk Franklin's hit single "Stomp"; Shannon was amazed how the love of his two styles of music came to a clash. Later in life he found a passion to write music lyrics but he never knew the direction to take his writings. When struggles presented themselves in his life, he began to refer back to those songs he sang in the choir as a kid for inspiration. Suddenly building a relationship with God he focused his writings on rap lyrics pertaining to Gospel. Going from when it was mandatory to sing the gospel he now openly sings the gospel in rap form as he seeks to delight himself in the presence of God.
