Socrates In Urgency is the debut album from Sharon Hazel Township, a jazz & funk inspired folk rock project out of San Diego, CA. The album was produced, written, recorded, and mixed by Sharon Hazel who played all instruments on the album as well. The album was released on Hazel’s own record label, Crumb Records. Socrates In Urgency was released on December 20th 2010 highlighted by a full-band performance at The Viper Room in West Hollywood.

Known for her multifaceted songwriting and honest lyrics about a California kid embracing adulthood in Chicago, Sharon Hazel enjoyed a successful solo career prior to forming Sharon Hazel Township. The Crumb Records recording artist has appeared in national and local media including Performer Magazine, Indie Music Television Show, and GoGirls Music Radio. Shortly after her move from Chicago (where she attended DePaul University) to San Diego, Sharon Hazel Township was born. The acoustic based band plays mostly original music influenced by folk, rock, jazz, and funk. Known to stray from verse and jam during a set, SHT was named one of southern California's premiere bands by Nug Magazine.
