Artist Summary Genres: Country / Southern Rock Label: Reign Forever Group - The Record Division Management: Donnie Canada Artist Bio "ASH" Shawn Ash was born Shawn Dwight Ashcraft on June 26, 1971. Ashcraft is an American singer-songwriter who is about to take the country music industry by storm. Molding his professional music career since the 2008, he has finally been signed to Reign Forever Music Group after being discovered with his hit single Dont Take the Beer. Early Life Ash was born in Springfield, IL, as the son of Leslie, a travel coordinator and Eric Ashcraft, a plumber. At the young age of three, Shawn and his father moved to Montana upon his parents divorce. He continued visiting his mother during the summers in Orlando, Fl. He was raised in Missoula, MT until his junior year, when he moved to Orlando, Fl with his mother after a diminishing relationship with his father took its toll. Ash graduated from Boone High School in 1990 and went into the Navy just three days following his graduation. He spent 8 years in the Navy, giving him the opportunity to explore 23 countries total. Throughout this journey, Ash gained extraordinary experiences as he spent time in the Persian Gulf for the First War, aided in evacuation and rescue efforts during the explosion of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines, and assisted in the recovery of Guam when it was hit by an 8.0 earthquake in 1993. The first song that fueled Ashs passion for music was Every Which Way But Loose, by Eddie Rabbit. At the age of eight, he knew this melody was one that would be instilled in him for the rest of his life. By the time he entered high school, his taste in music expanded significantly. His frequent playlists included ACDC, KISS, Richard Marx, Chicago, Alabama, Boyz to Men, Bel Biv Devoe, and Depeche Mode, among others. Oddly enough, country music was not necessarily his forte. Ashs first time on stage was in Subic Bay, Philippines, singing with a local band. After the band asked if anyone wanted to come up and sing, Ash was volunteered by a few of his Navy friends. He got up on the stage and sang Friends in Low Places, by Garth Brooks. The crowd went wild, leading Ash to envision himself as a country music star one day. Ash was released by the Navy in 1998 after a fall on the ship that shattered his right wrist. Shortly after, Ash moved back to his roots in Montana in what was his attempt to mend the rift between him and his father. Unsuccessful in establishing a relationship with him, Ash moved back to Orlando, FL. Upon his arrival, he stepped off the bus to greet his mother. She immediately snapped a Polaroid picture of him, shook it, then handed it to him and said "this is the beginning of your new life, honey." True to her word, Ash began creating music shortly after the picture was taken. He spent a majority of his time outside of his 9-5 compiling songs and practicing his vocals. He began to utilize his revealed talent by competing in music showcase contests and singing at various venues in Orlando, FL. After taking a short hiatus from music Ash moved to Rome, GA in 2001 and almost immediatley got back into music after meeting now good friend Shawn Holcolmbe who is now a member of the GA Blues Brothers Tribute Band in the area. Shawn got Ash back into music by asking him to perform with them at a Christmas Benefit in 2005 from that point Ash started back writing and looking for his next step into music as a career. With his distinctive vocals and intimate stage performance, Ashcraft is focusing on earning his place in the music industry as he watches his lifelong dream unfold.
