As you know, if you focus an event such as this around an artist, that artist must do the job, and do it extremely well for it to be a success. It was a GIANT success! I have dealt with several bands, and many that have gone to make it "big" if you will. Shawn is by far the most approachable, considerate, humble, and easy to talk to guys I've ever dealt with. My kids agreed whole-heartedly! They even went to Waffle House with our kids afterwards! WHAT!? That's unheard of from an artist that, in my opinion, is overdue for a recording contract! Shawn Bilton is a must-see, must-hear, must-have artist! In fact, I have already booked him for 2 more events in the next year. Shawn is an amazing leader and lover of God...and if they didn't have that, what would they have? Guys, thanks again! We will see you in October! Southwest Kansas was unaware of the movement that was about to take place and how God was going to use a Christian Rock band to start it. We set up several concerts in mostly small communities of 3000 or less. During the day, our church would team up with the churches of that local community, going door-to-door inviting people to the concert and sharing information about Jesus. To our surprise, Shawn and the guys even helped. They had to set up their staging, their lighting, and their instruments and then get a sound check. Yet, they still found time to make a few house calls letting the people of Southwest Kansas know that they are truly young men who love the Lord Jesus and desire His name to be spread and glorified. After spending just a few short days with WTR, we knew we had made the right choice in whom we invited to join us in spreading the Hope of Jesus across the Heartland. The remainder of the 10 day tour was just an amazing time of praying together, helping communities and allowing WTR to lead us in Worship with their music. It united the young people and some of the elders in the communities we visited. Since the summer tour, we have received several emails and phone calls requesting them back into our area. The communities that were touched by God during this tour have also stayed unified. We have an area-wide youth retreat planned for the end of February 2008, and most of the communities they shared in are signed up to attend. I highly recommend and stand behind Shawn Bilton. His leadership and character speak volumes of his personal relationship and love for Jesus. Shawn, Dustin and the WTR band have chosen the high road. The road few seem to be content with traveling. They are not caught up in the fame of being a band, but are caught up in bringing people to worship with them through their music. They present a quality concert for a fraction of the cost of other bands and spend time getting to know the community.
