Many thanks to Neil Preston at www.uniquesongs.com for recording and producing my songs and for some of the photos! Also, huge thanks to Andy at www.mojorecordslimited.co.uk for the fantastic and funky remastered version of Fire In Your Eyes! This can also be heard on http://www.mojorecordslimited.co.uk/Media.html and I am featured on their website as an artist they're working with: http://www.mojorecordslimited.co.uk/Artists.html By day I'm a Primary School Teacher but I've been writing songs, poems and playing the guitar (and other instruments) since I was about 9 and singing since I was in nappies... it's a passion that remains! Without the nappies though! Apparently whilst singing along to Bob Marley's Kinky Reggae I used to sing Cakey Wakey. Nearly right! Lucky enough to be born into a musical family, I tinkered with various instruments from an early age - there were all kinds around that we used to have fun on! Eventually guitar and singing were the things I stuck with. I've been in many bands and started busking for charity age 10. Over the years I've done loads of charity gigs/songwriting for charity etc. My gigs have been in all kinds of different venues (and countries!) and I have a lot of recording experience. I won't list all the gigs here as there are too many! I've been busy writing lots of new stuff that I'll be recording very soon. I also started acting around age 5 and was in my first paid role at age 10. I've worked with Hemstock&Jennings, they are internationally known chart hitting Hard Trance DJs/Producers. They're on www.leshemstock.com and they wrote the track Nothing But You that hit the charts big time when Paul Van Dyk collaborated with them on a remix of it. Les Hemstock was previously known as Jive Bunny. I've recorded with them, a chilled version of their dance chart hitting single 'Mirage'. After hearing my version of Silence by Delerium with just me and my guitar, they asked me to do something similar for the track. Great fun! I also sang live for them with only a few hours notice after they heard me play live for the first time. Their singer had fallen ill. It was at Promse at the Foundation (nightclub) in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I aboslutely loved it! I love playing with bands and doing singer/songwriter stuff but I also love dance music. The buzz watching everyone dancing with glowsticks and smiling while I sang a couple of their tunes and the club version of Silence was amazing! My party piece is hitting those high notes! I have to be really belting it out though which is why my cover is in the lower octave in the chorus! I find it suits the accoustic version. I've played solo on a few radio stations, in the UK and in Thailand (where I had my own show for a while). The UK stations were BBC Radio Stoke and Signal Radio. The internet radio station was radiogetswild.com, they played my track Fire In Your Eyes a couple of times. I am currently in discussions with other Internet stations. Also, whilst in Thailand I started learning to DJ (beat matching and mixing on an old system!). What a buzz! Such great fun when people are dancing. It's a hobby I'm continuing with and singing to a track whilst Dj-ing is an aim..! The live slots at the festivals I have played solo at were tremendous fun. They included PigFest at Keele University, Nantwich Folk and Roots Festical (Unsigned Showcase), EarthHeart, EarthWise and Shambala. At Shambala the sound guy mastered me a live CD of the set. My first CD was a 4 track EP which I sold copies of at gigs and whilst busking for a while. I used to have a regular slot at The Comedy Store in Stoke-on-Trent, just me and me guitar - but not as a comedian, even if I tell a funny joke I ruin it and no-one laughs! This slot finished as I went off to Australia with my guitar for a few months, busking, jamming and nut picking! I've been the support act to Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze at The Sugarmill in Stoke-on-Trent and played at Keele University Students' Union...to name but a few things! I have many original unrecorded songs that I will be recording soon when I've finished setting up (and learning to use!) my home system. In the meantime I'll be in a studio again soon. The songs that are on here were originally recorded with just me and my trusty eletrco-accoustic guitar and then the Producer Neil added the rest. I handed over full creative control for these versions! I imagine my songs working either with a band or with electronic music. If I was to be signed (and making a living from music has always been my dream) I would need to get together with musicians etc as I gig solo at the moment. Recently I've been working and recording with some electronic music producers and it's been great fun. In particular, the freestyling over tracks I'd never heard before! They were happy with the first takes though which was a pleasant surprise! I will also be recording with a signed established trance/progressive house producer soon (just as soon as my kit is fixed and set up!) Fun! I'm always keen to jam with new people! Feel free to send me a message! :-)
