Skyebat won Best Original Song with Step on the Moon at the 2009 Feel Good Film Festival and performed on August 9th at Graumans Egyptian Theater in LA on Hollywood blvd. « I was treated to the spectacular sound of a new hip band singing under the label of SkyeBat. SkyeBat uses a mixture of several band components to create a unique music collection. With parts of the songs being sung in French and English, they truly give a true sense of the current trend in multicultural entertainment …. After hearing the band, anything is possible from this group of talented artists ... SkyeBat surely has a way of livening up the crowds and getting the beat flowing from the stage throughout the audiences ...only great things are in store for this young band as they travel through time ... » Justin Prudhomme, Island Vibes Magazine May 2009 Stephanie Batailler was born in the French Alps near Switzerland (ever heard about Yodeling ?), she studied History at the Sorbonne in Paris & Film at the New School University in NYC. She came to music by writing lyrics for songs to be in her short films. After many viewers and friend’s requests who loved the song Step on the Moon from her film Trip to the Planetarium, Stephanie decided to give it a try. Writing a novel, a script or lyrics it’s the same, it’s about telling a story and communicating emotion with the audience. Adding to the fact that I strongly think that “We encounter more Aliens on Earth that in Space” .. Skyebat combines Pop/R&B/Latin Most of the Music for Album Year 2051 was composed & performed by Kennan Keating, multi platinium producer. Except Step on the Moon music composed and performed by Peter Calandra and Kennan Keating and Catch Up music composed by Theo Eastwind and performed by Kennan Keating. Album Year 2051 is featuring Rapper Beneficent Robinson on Catch Up, Love isn’t complicated & One Day. Why choosing to write each song combining English & French ? At the beginning I was torn between writing the songs in English or French. I lived in NYC for the last 11 years, so I speak & write English every day more than I speak French now. However, depending on which kind of story comes into my mind, my French comes back. So after a while struggling, I realized that I didn’t have to choose one specific language to write the lyrics for the songs, I just had to let the story leading me. Eventually, words came out very quickly by themselves and we just completed in December 08 our first album, Year 2051, 4 months in the making! Skyebat plan for 2010 : 1. Tour in NY-US-Europe-Asia 2. Direct & Produce great music videos combining HD & Animation !! Skyebat plan for the next few years ! Skyebat is hoping to write the opening music for the next Olympics !! Skyebat message : You have the power to make the world a better place, use it before the astéroïde hits us ☺ !
