We could lay out a sentimental story about how we got together, or a meticulously wrought mythical tale about how this band was powerfully unified like a Beryllium atom--but lets skip the details of history, chemistry, myth, and legend, and jump right to what counts, that is: what we're all about, why we exist. We have pretty much set out to cross every musical, generic boundary that we can. Crossing boundaries implies moving from one bounded area to another. We're not stopping there. Where there are boundaries--borders of countries, the division of parts, generic lines of definition--we seek not only to build bridges but to beautifully blend and meticulously mend the edges of these otherwise distinguishably demarcated domains of music, race, and culture. Essentially, what we're going for here is not just a multifarious patchwork of pieces--sown together, threatening to tear at its seams--but an eclectic tie-dye of multitudinous musical modes and models coming together in one particular piece of finely fashioned fabric. We're trying to take musical eclecticism from the realm of patchwork to the realm of painting. So, we're a band with a mission--and this thing will either fly or fail. Just like we're not positively sure whether a lion with giant white wings would actually fly or not.
