Sleep G is the name ringing out in the streets as one of the hardest working up and coming artist on the Hip-Hop scene. With his aggressive crowd pleasing stage presence, SleepG is stirring up the streets and gaining a lot of attention from music critics all over Florida. Rashaun “SleepG” Williams grew up basically being the role model for everyone around him. Growing up in Brevard County Florida, Sleep had to set the example for his younger siblings because he was the oldest. He grew up with mainly his mom around, so he had to play a major part in helping out his younger brother Michael Williams and sister Ashley Williams when she wasn’t around. Growing up in a lifestyle where you are forced to be a leader, made Sleep appreciate that as he got older. Sleep didn’t always get what he wanted but he had everything he needed, even if that meant eating Ramen Noodles 7 days a week, to him it was food on the table. Sleep was a month away from graduating from Bethune-Cookman University when his life took a major turn. On March 14, 2010 Sleep lost his younger brother Michael Williams. This was a dark day for Sleep and this loss put a lot of stuff into perspective in his everyday life. Sleeps extreme devotion to his music is what keeps him going everyday. Sleep discovered music in High School when he lost one of his homeboys. One of his friends asked him to get on a track and drop a short flow and after that the rest was history. He wakes up everyday now thinking what can he do next or how can he better himself. Even though his name is Sleep, that’s the last thing you’ll see him do. Sleep stays up night after night pushing out new material to stay relevant in today’s Industry. When Sleep first started rapping, he just freestyled a lot because he didn’t know how to count bars. He wasn’t a strong enough writer so he let his mind spit the facts. Even though Sleep loved his music, he took a hiatus to pursue his football career in college. Football didn’t work out, so he decided to get back to what he loved, his Music. He met Kris Crayton aka Beatz, who revived his music career and now they are on the rise to greatness. Sleep is grinding hard and trying to take his career to the next level. Music is what keeps him motivated and with so much on his mind, he feels the best way to express it is on a track, whether its death, money, women or his success. Sleep is currently shooting a documentary about his life which he was asked to do for a film festival. With the Promo from the Film Festival it will give people a chance to get to know SleepG. Being heard more and more everyday, Sleep has a lot of people looking up to him so he can’t let them down. Sleep lives his life second by second, moment by moment just waiting on the next opportunity to grace the stage and show people why he should be the next one to make it. At the end of the day all Sleep really has is himself and he’s going to make people see that.
