Something Red is a four-piece progressive indie band from Providence, RI. Featuring big vocal harmonies, complex-yet-catchy instrumentation and a unique approach, the band turns heads at every show. Something Red was formed in October 2008 when the four founding members decided to jam on some songs that guitarist Mike Leone had written. Mike and drummer Ryan Langlois's previous band, The Singletary Trio, had dissolved, and they were looking for a new sound with lots of vocal harmony, catchy melodies, and unusual arrangements. The two first recruited Piera Caruso, an experienced cellist, choral director, and school music teacher. Soon after, they enlisted longtime friend Eric Flynn, another music teacher, on keyboards. The band continued to rehearse and write original songs, and they began to play shows during the Winter of 2009. By the spring, they were headlining shows in the Providence area and had released their debut EP, Inside, with Red Orchestra Studios. The band continues to write new music for their upcoming full-length LP and plays shows throughout southern New England. More recently, Something Red scored and recorded music for Ringo, a short film in the Rhode Island 48-Hour Film Project.
