This latin jazz septet was the brainchild of percussionist Gamalier Reyes and Daniel Pena . The idea was to assemble some of the most talented, young musicians Miami had to offer, put them in a studio, and let creativity take over.These musicians were hand picked due to their work in the idioms of jazz, salsa, and descarga. What began as a studio jam session, quickly began to turn into a bona fide latin jazz recording. The next obvious step was to take the energy that culminated in the studio, and put the show on the road. With all the guys from the recording on board, the seven member group was now a go. The group is comprised of: Gamalier Reyes on timbales, Daniel Pena on congas, Luis Reyes on bongos, Carlos Jimenez on piano, Luis Rodriguez on bass, Jose Ruiz on trombone, Oscar Dudamel on sax, and Maribel Diaz featured on vocals.
