Tyler Germann aKa SouthEast T was born in Eugene, OR in the fall of 1981. His mother Lynda was, and still is a florist and his father Ted at the time was a carpenter and successful songwriter / musician. Soon after T was born his father moved the family to Oakland, CA for more opportunities in the construction field and musically. After years of traveling with his successful rock band throughout the western part of the United States, Ted finally decided to move the family north to Portland, OR to settle down. Soon after moving to Portland, T’s little brother Nolan was born a short time before enrolling in elementary school at Mill Park Elementary in South East Portland. T would eventually find his niche as an athlete excelling in football and baseball throughout middle school (Floyd Light) and high school (David Douglas) after gaining all league honors his junior year (1998) as a quarterback in the Mt. Hood Conference T transferred to Lincoln H.S. for his senior year for a chance of exposure and a college scholarship. After his second all league season (1999) in a row this time in the P.I.L. and finishing second in the state statistically among all quarterbacks statewide opportunities began to arise. During his time at LHS T became best friends with EJ Fredrick aKa Uh-Oh a receiver on his football team. EJ was a local rapper himself eventually influencing T to get into rapping and writing rhymes as well as giving him his nickname T that eventually evolved into SouthEast T (being from SouthEast Portland). Also during his time at LHS he became friends with local rapper Sean Harvey aKa Vocab and local super producer Anthony aKa Young Asap both currently with Hi Rollerz Records and the Coast 2 Coast Mixtape series. After 2 years of college football in southern California (2000-2002) T moved back to the rose city to finish his degree and find a constructive and productive path to follow. He soon hooked back up with his HS friend EJ and his cousin Montez forming the group “ Feelin’ It Productions “ and recorded his first verse in 2003. Feelin’ It Productions was very short lived after Tez caught a lengthy sentence in prison and EJ moved south to Arizona to broaden his horizons eventually catching a lengthy prison sentence as well. Solo and back to square one musically, T went back to what he knew best, football. He went out for the Portland Thunderbolts Semi-Pro football team in 2003 and earned the starting quarterback position that he held for 3 years, also earning all league status twice before retiring from the game in 2005. During his semi-pro stint T hooked up with teammate Will Reynolds aKa Young Stack a rapper / producer from the bay area that moved north to start a new life with his family in Oregon. In 2004 T was back writing and recording, this time with Young Stack. The duo recorded 3 collaborations in the summer of 2004 “Jealousy” “Pussy” “In The Area Remix”. The music was put on the back burner after his grandma passed; this was a huge wake up call to get his life together educationally and professionally. After a 3 year hiatus from music T picked up the pen and pad again December 2007 and recorded his first solo song titled “What’s Life.” 2008 was full of ups and downs but T never gave in recording over 50 solo songs and perfecting his craft as a positive well spoken rap artist, never buying into the trend of violence and materialism so much associated with the rap game and rap artists. T has worked with various artists throughout the united states (BAGI, Young Breez, D-Monk, KillaKat, Poetrees, MIC, Fred Diezil, Wicked, Big D, Young Extravegant) collaborating on mixtape tracks thus gaining a bit of exposure in the process. In 2009 T was approached by Redneck Soldier to get on a show he was putting on in March, this was his first show and from the performance it did not look like his first time on a stage. Confident with multiple shows under his belt and ready to put himself out there, the momentum increased in the following months. Performing and working with another local rap artist Big D has given great opportunities for exposure as well as another creative mind to work with. Currently T plans to release a solo mixtape in the fall of 2009 titled “Tha Mouth Of Tha SouthEast Vol. 1” and his first completely exclusive solo debut early 2010 still untitled. A Coast 2 Coast Mixtape feature and huge up-coming collaborations are only a small part of what’s to come from T aKa SouthEast T, stay positive and be aware of what’s coming.
