Antonio Ortiz was born in BK New York on May 20th, 1987.He was raised between Harlem and Allentown, PA, so he got a taste of both inner city and the sticks. That gave him an a skewed view of life and opened his eyes to how different it really is. A writer at an early age, Antonio, or SPEAK was golden with a pen. Writing mostly poetry and song lyrics, there wasn't really much he could do with them at that age. When he turned sixteen his music knowledge started to increase rapidly, anything from jay-z to the doors to phish back over to talib and mos def and everything in between. his love for music and the way it made him feel made him want to get into making it. At seventeen, he began grasping the mic well just playing with words on the mic. Being good with poetry helped him develop his sense of flow and rhythm.In that time antonio also chose to try and play his hand in the acting field, and is still currently working to break that field open. When it comes to music he has worked with Minnesota of money boss players (also DJ and composer for acclaimed TV series "DEF POETRY JAM"). Speakup entertainment was founded in may of 04 and was started because well, what can a label do i cant do for myself...and its a little harder to get a deal when NOT exactly conforming to whats HOT at the particular moment. speakup is not just an independent label Antonio started it is a movement to get the youth to really discover what there true potential is and go for it. A fresh glass of water in the face of a sleeping society where before children know there ABC's they know bcbg dng ps3. etc. Antonio is now 21 years of age and excited for the full launch of speakupentertainment with partner Nadim Dayoub.
