Stella Park is a pop/punk-influenced rock band from Cleveland, OH formed in the spring of 2009. The band derives its name from a story a friend told about a stripper whose stage name was Stella Park. The quartet’s sound has been compared to such acts as Blink 182, Yellowcard, Sugarcult, and Jimmy Eat World. Their live shows are full of energy, humor and infectious three minute anthems about love and loss. They are fronted by dynamic vocalist/guitarist, Jeremy Vandress. He desired to create a band using rock music’s most basic formula by combining catchy melodies with buzz-saw guitars, pounding bass and clockwork drumming. Also, he wanted to focus on using imaginative lyrics instead of the many cliché phrases that tend to water down rock songs. The result is a refreshing blend of alternative, punk, pop and indie rock. He met Mike Rex through an online listing. The two immediately bonded over their love for a solid musical hook. They instantaneously penned two crowd favorites, “Stick Around” and “You and Me.” Soon they entered into Jungle Studio and recorded a three song demo with Bryan Patrick engineering. As a duo, they played acoustically in coffee shops and malls around Northeast Ohio using their demo to get their foot in the door at larger venues such as the Grog Shop in Cleveland Hts, the Musica in Akron and the Boma in Columbus. Eventually they found a bassist in Kevin Romanello. He added another layer of vocal harmonies as well as his professional abilities in graphic design (he designed the website and all other promotional material). All the while they auditioned over 15 drummers before finding a perfect match with Alex Gabor. He solidified the bands sound with his precision drumming and finally the line-up was complete. In September 2010, the band recorded their first 2 singles MY DISASTER and HEARTBREAK with Dan Malsch (Four Year Strong, Framing Hanley, Forever the Sickest Kids) at Soundmine Studios. Currently, the band is booking shows in the regional area surrounding Cleveland. Stella Park plays songs that get stuck in your head and plays shows full of entertainment.
