Steve Simmons is a singer/songwriter, originally from Perth on the west coast of Australia. Steve first played professionally as a drummer and recorded a number of albums/singles with various bands. By age 19 the dream of becoming a singer was fulfilled and within 12 months, was fronting the biggest band on the west coast at the time. A short stint in the USA was followed by a relocation to Sydney, and 3 years with an original act that released 2 albums and various singles throughout Europe & Japan. After the act split, Steve headed south to Melbourne, where he still resides. He gigs every week with shows ranging from solo acoustic sets to nightclub and pub gigs with bands as well as casinos and major sporting & corporate events. Steve also works as a professional actor, with credits including guest roles in shows like City Homicide, Neighbours, Last Man Standing, Stingers etc, plus numerous film and tv commercial roles as well as stage & musicals. In 2004 Steve Simmons entered the studio to record some demos for the 'Glass' ep. Inspired by classic guitar fuelled power pop, brit pop and sometimes a hint of something darker, a live ensemble was formed and started gigging around Melbourne, Australia as 'Steve Simmons Band.' The band features some of Melbourne's finest with ex members of Borner, The Inches & The Sparrows. Within a few months the band had already notched up some impressive live performances in some of Melbourne's biggest and best venues (including a slot at Melbourne's St. Kilda Festival). In late 2008 the band released 'HERE I AM,' an 11 song follow up to Glass. Now in 2009 the band is ready to take its brand of rock to the next level !
