About Still Kickin'

Middleton, NH

Jerry Evans now resides in North Baldwin Maine. He doesn’t live far from his hometown of Sebago Lake. In his earlier years he would listen to WWVA in the car with his Mom, Dad and family. In the back seat of an old 47’ Chevy Jerry would listen to the likes of Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams, Hank Snow and Lefty Frizzell and as he would sing along and he new he wanted to become a singer. Well with his cousin’s guitar it wasn’t long before Jerry was playing and singing. As time went on he was influenced by more greats like Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Ray Price, Wynn Stewart, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and others. But it was one particular artist and his unique song writing style and the way he would deliver his songs. Merle Haggard has had the most influence on Jerry and has made the biggest impacted on Jerry in country music. Jerry has work with some of the best in the record business. In 1980 Jerry and a band call The Gamblers won the band of the year award and best male vocalist. The Gamblers was the most performing band in the state of Maine in 1980. Jerry and a band called Still Kickin’ continue to play out in clubs. Jerry is now again making new recording of old good country music. I hope you enjoy. Jerry
