Sumo Elevator is a Heavy Elevator Music quartet from Israel.
Sumo Elevator was formed back in the 2006, by Yevgeny Kushnir(guitars) and Oleg Szumski(drums). The band's line-up changed during the first two years, and in 2008, Mark Lekhovitser (bass guitars) and Alik Furman (synthesizers) joined the band, which made it a fully operational machine.
An interesting fact is that each of the Sumo Elevator members has a totally different musical passion, such as jazz-fusion, experimental metal, ID...

An interesting fact is that each of the Sumo Elevator members has a totally different musical passion, such as jazz-fusion, experimental metal, IDM and R&B. However, this only strengthens the band, and inspires each from other's musical vocabulary.
The band has just released an EP - "ho-muwa-ku", which defines the quartet's sound and direction.
A full length album is planned to be released by the end of 2009, after a series of shows in Israel.
