Rejecting the bloated and over-played new wave resurgence of late musical popularity, Susan combines a guitar driven sound, passionate and powerful drumming, introspective lyrics, and intertwining melodies that don’t overshadow any one element of the music. No one component of the band’s playing sticks out to trip up and seduce a listener, instead all parts add to a whole, creating a musical texture revolving around central themes rather than hooks and ditties. The songs are meant to be listened on full volume, allowing one to drift into the waves of both loud and soft noise, powerful and vulnerable lyrics; the sound of sincerity that is so lacking in the music of today.
