Shaun "Sutter" Bryant was born on the "1st of the 6th month 84'...right before RUN traded ryhmes wit Curtis Blow." Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Sutter moved to Richmond, VA at the age of 6 where he overcame much diversity and hardships. Being an African American male and being raised by a single black woman, he refused to become another statistic. As a child growing up, Sutter always had a passion for music, poetry and writing; however he never thought he would be interested in persuing a music career, until the day he was invited to a friend's studio. Since the first time Sutter spit on the mic, he fell in love with rap/hip hop all over again. Being a huge advocate of the "Hip Hop is DEAD" movement, Sutter ALMOST hated what Hip Hop had become. However, Sutter decided to pursue rap at a creative angle in the hopes of building a fan base of "the new" and "old" school. Being born in the 80's, Sutter feels as if his generation has a better understanding of today's music and able to appreciate the origins of rap as well. One day, Sutter drove by a Ferrari and a big house on a hill, and thought to himself that he would never get that working a regular 9 to 5. Sutter learned that you have to go after what you want in life because "Corporate America" will only give you the minimum of satisfaction, if any. In 2009, Sutter decided to quit a job where he was almost making six figures to focus on music full time. Of course, many people looked at this as not being a smart move (especially in today's economy)but those who think that way are realists and not a visionary as Sutter is. Sutter feels people should know that it's not the money that makes you happy, but it's what you do to get the money that makes you happy. Sutter is a 26 year old black male who didn't go to college, but yet accomplished a lot with no help from the envirionment he grew up in. God has set him up perfectly to take the opportunity to do what he dreams of. "A person can't complain when they see someone that has everything they ever desired because they didn't take that leap of faith. I read a quote a few months ago that said "When you let go of fear, only then you can change from what is into what can be..." and "...faith is just like film, it only developes in the dark." It is true that a man who is scared of failure is a man who accomplishes nothing; and I refuse to be that man." ~Sutter
