Sx-Fo was born Eric Dwayne Neal on September 16th, 1984 in Richmond, Mud Alley, Texas, half an hour South of Houston, Texas. Growing up was tough both emotionally and financially for them. The family lived off of Government assistance which left them with limited food at times. They were so poor that his grandmother would comb his hair with a dinner fork because they couldn't afford a comb. “As a kid, I did not understand how bad we were doing. All I knew was that when we were hungry, there would not always be food.” Sx-Fo's grandparents were very religious. His grandmother and aunts had formed a singing group at their church long before he was born, and it was evident that music was in their blood. So when the kids became old enough to talk, they definitely sang. Sx-Fo learned how to play the piano at five years old. When he was a child, Sx-Fo attended a friend’s birthday party, where he saw success at its finest. His friend lived in a big beautiful house, and after meeting the boy’s father and being inspired from the man’s hard work, Sx-Fo decided that he wanted to be just as successful one day. Because Sx-Fo was not open to express his feelings, he began writing them down on paper. Soon after, he fell in love with Poetry. He wrote about the only thing that was on his mind which was a poem entitled “I Want to be Somebody, Someday.” Sx-Fo was born in 1984, which was the year of the evolution of Hip Hop. He was influenced by all the legends like LL cool J, Run DMC, Big Daddy Kane etc. But it was Tupac who had the most impact. Sx-Fo felt that Tupac best fit with what he, himself, wanted to accomplish as far as mixing poetry with expression of music. This led him into a new dimension of his life. In 2007, Sx-Fo started to work on his first solo album entitled "Strait Jacket.” It was a highly unusual mixture of lyrical genius and some dark music. It was at the darkest point of his life as he dealt with personal issues which he could only express in song. Sx-Fo touched more fans than he ever did in the past. He felt good hearing fans write him saying how much he inspired them. They related to what he said in his music. In 2008, Sx-Fo dropped "Strait Jacket" in the streets and got an overwhelming response. "Strait Jacket" was released on Itunes, Rhaphody, Emusic, and Amazon.com in 2009 due to the high demand from online fans and customers. On February 11th, 2009 Sx-Fo lost his best friend. He wasn’t just a friend, but his only source of motivation. His friend was his number one fan and thought that Sx-Fo made better music than most acts on the radio. He was like a brother to him. At that point Sx-Fo hit a state of confusion. For a while, Sx-Fo was in shock and disbelieve. It was the worst thing that ever happened to him, but the situation ignited a fire that he didn't know existed. He became even more serious about his music career and becoming successful. Sx-Fo moved to Miami and began working on his new album entitled "Hip Pop, Welcome to the Future" which was recorded at "The Hit Factory Criteria Miami.” His new album is a mixture of both Pop and Hip Hop to create a new sound. Sx-Fo collaborated with Multi-Grammy Award winning engineers Marc Lee and Mike Fuller. Amongst the two, their work ranges from artists such as Beyonce, 50cent, Nas, The Bee Gee's, Missy Elliot, Rick Ross, and Dolly Parton. In early 2010, Sx-Fo teamed up with super producers RadioKillaz in the UK. They were excited to do the first official House remix of Sx-Fo’s first Pop/Hip-Hop single "Dance the Night Away.” On January 15th, 2010 Sx-Fo was introduced to the UK by Legendary DJ/Radio personality Annie Nightingale on the UK's biggest radio station BBC Radio 1. This spread his music to an international level with great responses from fans in Denmark, Scandinavia, Sweden, and London. From then, he continued to strengthen his brand by spinning his music and performing live at local clubs like Opium at the Hard Rock Casino and Voodoo Lounge in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. On July 8th 2010, Sx-Fo's new single “Home” was selected to appear exclusively on Real NBA.com by an NBA reporter. http://realnba.com/sx-fo-home/.
