It’s the perfect soundtrack for a girl’s night out. High energy retro-electro tunes laced with cheeky witticisms, her songs celebrate female empowerment through self-expression and sexual liberation.A globetrotter, and a lover of the arts, Tara grew up traveling around the world with her humanitarian parents who encouraged her to pursue musical studies. She began singing in a junior choir at the age of six, and subsequently studied piano, voice, and ballet. She expanded her studies and became a multi-instrumentalist, writing original songs.By seventeen, Tara was a professional recording artist and was touring North America in an all-girl pop group. When the group disbanded, Tara furthered her musical studies in Jazz and continued to hone her performance skills by regularly playing Vancouver venues while working on projects and collaborations with other musicians.She recorded her first solo album in 2008 and released it later that year. Her song Any Other Day, which bears the same title as her album, landed her a spot in Virgin Radio’s Best of B.C. as well as regular play from the station.Currently, Tara is working with pop hit maker Phil Lehmann (Kreesha Turner, Shiloh, Stef Lang). She will be releasing her first single and touring in the spring of 2011.
