....Tarnish By Gray is the pet project of Vancouver musician and artist Myk Shaflik who’s history includes playing with bands, Ransom, Nasty Toys, Jokers Wild, Opium Underground, Soul Dust and Catapult to name a few. Having spent time with so many talented players, Myk wanted to blend many of the influences shared within the community and Vancouver culture. With a solid back ground in Rock music it is easy to say the foundation for the songs are based on this genre, however very quickly you will find elements of country, eastern, funk, electronica and blue grass bleeding through the seams. Thick guitars and vocal harmonies are represented in many of the tracks, while the simplicity of a single drum and acoustic guitar can make the same impression in this project. Embracing the latest technology, Myk likes to experiment with many avenues while not forgetting the importance of personal responsibility and smart song writing techniques. Tarnish By Gray has a full length album set for release late summer of 2011 and live shows consisting of some of the top players Vancouver has to offer
