Very few people actually make it in the music business. It is an extremely hard task. It takes consistent dedication and ambition to excel. In addition, you have to put in a lot of hard work as well. The public is looking for artists that constantly create Hits. Sometimes it is very difficult to find artist like this. Everyday we see a new artist, and then the next day they are gone. So when will someone make the change? Well the time is now…….. Tay Jasper, born Jeremy Devonte Jasper, is only a step away from having the chance to prove that he has what it takes. Only being 18, he is very versatile in many different areas in music. Starting at a young age, Tay was always very talkative. He wanted to know everything. Everyone knew he was very smart, especially his grandmother. She always looked out for him. Born in Chicago, IL, it was difficult for his parents to make a living. His mother had no choice but to relocate. At the age of 6 months, his mother got a divorce and decided to move to Atlanta, GA. At that time she knew that she would not be able to take care of two children. She was left with only one option. She had to give her only son, to her mother until she was able to get back on her feet. Growing up with his grandparents was actually the best thing that every happened to him. His grandparents were so wise. They taught him many things that kids his age weren’t even concentrating on. She also ignited his passion for music. Listening to artist like Sam Cooke, Smokie Robinson, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson, helped him understand the true concept of music. He realized that this is what he wanted to do and he was determined to get there. After about five years, his mother was finally stable. She started a new beginning in Atlanta. At this time, Tay had to leave the person he loved the most, his grandmother. She sent him away with good advice and always reminded him that music is where your heart is. Being in Atlanta was different from being in the rural areas of Pine Bluff, AR. Throughout grammar school, he excelled with flying colors, always making perfect grades. He was a very bright student. Everyone knew that he was going to do extremely well in life. The only hard part was that he was constantly changing schools. His mother always wanted the best for him. But what she didn’t realize is that it was hard for him to build deep relationships with people. In the sixth grade he received his first keyboard. He was determined to learn how to play it and he did just that. As he got older, like most children, he was caught by the spell of Hip-Hop. He started falling in love with the creativity of musicians in the business. He knew he wanted to develop his own style. As soon as he was ready to start working on his music, another event happened in his life. His mother, decided to get a divorce again. She no longer wanted to stay in Atlanta. She wanted to be closer to her mother. So back to Da Bluff is where he went. Now he was back at home with his grandmother. Even though he still had a huge passion for music, at this time he didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. Everyone was leading him in different directions. He had to start friendships all over again, so he decided to concentrate on his school work. To help him feel like music is what he still wanted to do, he joined the band. The band not only helped develop his skills, it showed him a whole different concept behind music. While in the band he learned how to read music. He learned how to play many different instruments, such as the saxophone, trumpet and drums. He carried these techniques to high school. Even though the band meant so much to him, he still didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. Once again, after he finally got settled and built strong friendships, he had to move again. This time he had to move to Arlington, TX. While in Texas, Tay ran into a great producer named Todd Cooper bka T-Coop. T-Coop was a very talented producer. He was a genius when it came to making beats and using his reativity to make excellent tracks. While working with T-Coop, Tay recorded his first single ever, “Do Wut It Do.” Working with T-Coop helped him develop his style. It also taught him how to write and create his own music. T-Coop taught him many things about the industry, and enlightened his mind on the steps to take to make it in the business. After graduating as the Salutatorian of his class, he decided to attend Columbia College in Chicago. Here he would pursue his career in music. He also met up with great singers like Paris and Veto. They both had the same passion as he did. Veto and Tay decided to form a group called “Satizfaction.” They began to work hard on their music and the rest is to be continued……………
