Hip Hops artist Darren Alston also known as Taz "Mula" Money is on a journey to the top. Born January 13th 1986, Darren grew up in the South Bronx listening to all genres of music. Hip Hops artist Darren Alston also known as Taz "Mula" Money is on a journey to the top. Born January 13th 1986, Darren grew up in the South Bronx listening to all genres of music. His mother Robin used to sing in a R&B group in her younger years which was a starting inspiration for his music. In Junior High School, Darren played the Alto Saxophone in the school's band. After Junior High School he attended two different High Schools, one being Harry S. Truman in the Bronx. At Truman, he met several people that rapped such as a group called 950 Plus, Kennie Dubb and Gutta. After Meeting these rappers, he wondered what it was like to rap, but never went through with it. In September of 2006, Kennie Dubb gave Taz Money a chance to shine on his recorded track called "N.B.Y.G Soldiers". Altho it was Taz Money's first rhyme, he did exceptionally well. This was the beginning of Darren's journey with music. Taz Money started to work on his own songs throughout 2007. After recording song after song at "P.C.P Studios he made his first mixtape titled "Opening Chapter". The mixtape did good for a beginner. Taz continued to work on his flow, concepts, and voice to become a better rapper. Amazingly Taz Money's popularity grew quicker than expected in the eyes of many people. In 2008 he released another mixtape titled "It's My Turn" which had many hits such as "Roll Wit Me", "Beyond Repair" and "I'm Fly" featuring Big Face just to name a few. Taz began to collect a large number of fans since he began to rap. Everyday he is influenced to work on better music by artist such as KRS-One, LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Tupac, Biggie Smalls and many more. Every track produced by Taz Money increases his skill level. He is also workin on a label called M.U.L.A Ent, MULA meaning Music yoU Love Anywhere. Who knows what the future may hold for this young man. But he promises to make it to the top!
