Tenio was born in Carrollton, Georgia in 1975. He attended Bremen High School and left to pursue a career in performing arts at Berklee College of Music in 1993.  After some financial hardships, he returned to Carrollton Georgia to work on a performance degree at the State University of West Georgia.  At that time, he participated in various performance ensembles such as the schools honor chorus, concert choir, marching band, percussion ensemble, and symphonic bands.  He is an alumni member of the music social fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  During his first two years at West Georgia, Tenio performed professionally as the Assistant Director of the Cantamos Spiritual Chorus of Atlanta and the Metropolitan Atlanta Acapella Mass Chorus.  Both groups won awards for best video and choral groups at the Christian Acapella Music Awards (CAMA) in 2000. During his sophomore year of college, Tenio changed to be a Psychology major where he later finished his BA. During this period of time, he worked as a Mental Health Professional with severely emotionally disturbed children.  He has been a keynote speaker for the Georgia Teen Institute and the National Association of Teen Institute using music and psychology to teach children how to choose healthy life-styles. He presented workshops teaching stress management, self-help, and personal wellness. During those years, he also finished his Master's in Psychology and also added on education classes to become a teacher in special education. He also adopted his 7 year-old male son (now 25) at that time. He fostered and worked to adopt his older brother, however, situations above his control prevented the completion of that. He soon moved to teach in public school for 5 years and private school for 3.  He has been the director of three residential treatment homes throughout Georgia, a Psychological Operations Solider of the U.S. Army, a private pilot, and currently a college professor at West Georgia Technical College.   Tenio was the sole-proprietor, Administrator, and Instructor of Independence High School accredited by Georgia Accrediting Commission. He continues to write procedure manuals to help open group homes, speak and do workshops for the Georgia and National Association of Teen Institutes, educational consulting and training.  He has acted with Offspring of David productions featuring gospel comedy plays as well as featured in extra roles on the Walking Dead, For Better or Worse, and The Hunger Games.  He is in the process of completing a Doctorate degree in Psychology, and he is currently completing publication requirements on two books entitled, In the Morning (An inspirational quote book) and Help Me, I’m in Foster Care. He is a singer/songwriter, parent, teacher, counselor, friend, and adventurer.
