About Tha Beatmizas

menlo park, CA

With recent rebirth of the San Francisco Bay Area’s music scene, comes a new breed of production. Unorthodox from the norm, Tha Beatmizas infuse multiple genres of music such as Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock, R&B/Soul, Funk, Jazz, World Beat, Reggae, Gospel, and Electronica just to name a few; to pro-create their own method of sound. The members of Tha Beatmizas Alicia Williams (25), and Edward Johnson (25) met in spring of 2004 while conversing on a chat line one night. Having shared mutual interest in many things, including a deep passion for music; they became friends instantly, and not long after engaged into a romantic love affair together... Prior to meeting each other, Alicia envisioned embarking into music production; whereas Edward had been in music production/ songwriting nearly 10 years at the time. Edward claimed that he was tired of working with individuals who didn’t take promoting themselves, or the materials he provided seriously, and thought to “throw in the towel” on continuing a career in the music industry; until he met Alicia…it was her enthusiasm, encouragement, and determination that inspired the duo; that they join in alliance to take their music to a higher plateau. Originally known as “Da Wonda Twinz”, in 2007 they are now Tha Beatmizas… They are currently working ..ing their own music publishing, production company, and independent recording label Metronome Entertainment; and their debut album, "Tha Beatmizas Presents:Got Beats?Vol. 1" (release date: TBA). They will also begin a search for new unsigned artists of all different music genres. Edward states, “We been dwelling in the caves for too long, yo; so it’s time that we let the world know we here now, and we gotta statement to make…” “We want people to hear our music, and relate to it”, says Alicia, “we’re different, just like every other individual on this planet; hopefully our sound can help someone find their own identity…”
