Creative, Intelligent, Talented Young Man (C.I.T.Y) was born David Paul Baptiste, Jr. September 6, 1988 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He first discovered his musical talent at the age of 10. Coming from a bloodline of musicians, C.I.T.Y was influenced by his Great Grandfather Louis Barbarian and Great Uncle Paul Barbarian who were both considered “Founders” in the movement of jazz music back in the 1940’s.

Coming from a bloodline of musicians, C.I.T.Y was influenced by his Great Grandfather Louis Barbarian and Great Uncle Paul Barbarian who were both considered “Founders” in the movement of jazz music back in the 1940’s.
Growing a love for expression, he developed a passion for writing using his musical lyrics as an avenue of escape from the streets of New Orleans. During his junior year at St .Augustine High School his enthusiasm for writing was noticed by his English Teacher Mr. Jones who would not accept any papers shorter than perfect. This demand developed his excitement for writing, which he began to express through rapping. C.I.T.Y decided that he wanted to mix soulful, jazz, gangster rap, and club rap rather than compromising his style with bounce music that was popular in New Orleans. Forced to relocate to Dallas, after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, he realized how suddenly life could change. C.I.T.Y. decided to travel to Houston where he enrolled in college to continue his education, enhance his writing ability and production skills. He is currently attending Texas Southern University. His anticipated graduation date is December 2011. Continuing to inspire his peers through his music, C.I.T.Y. is currently recording in his own studio, writing words of wisdom, inspiration and about his personal experiences. He holds on to his dream of becoming a trendsetter in rap music, Who is a versatile and prolific rapper, write and produce.
