The 24-7 City Blueprint are a band that time forgot.Always held in high esteem by their peers and have even influenced some of the bands who now influence a younger generation on the Plymouth music scene. However due to a high turnover of drummers and members who have the more grounded commitments of day to day life, like mortgages, jobs and families or members who are more important members of bigger things ,The 24-7 City Blueprint have slipped away as also rans or just a memory. Some would say we are underachievers, others that we are just not focussed.I think deep down we would like to think of ourselves as a sleeping giant, but who the fuck are we kidding you've got to be a giant first before you are a sleeping giant! What we know is that we have big songs and epic moments of heartfelt music played out in a stereophonic dramatised display of emotions and feelings that we feel connect us to the listener,or maybe should we say hope that we are connected to the listener. And so this is the last grasp of the straw. We have started again to try and pick up the pieces of our forgotton art. Like a million pound masterpiece that has fallen off the souless hallway of a millionaires mansion, who doesn't even know an oil painting from a finger painting, we lie in the shadows gathering dust while watching the perpetual forward motion of others. And thus like the painting we lie on the floor trampled underfoot by the footsteps of a new tennant who now just graffitti's the walls instead. We are now once again on the line up merry go 'round after parting company with our recent bass player and friend Ben Diffey as musically things just weren't working out.In an amazing twist of fate we now have mutual long term friend and singer songwriter of King Sandbox [Rob Bennett] playing bass with us and have spent the long grey and wet summer in the recording studio producing the bulk of our next album. We have thankfully managed to keep hold of our new drummer [Rob Stillwell, ex Full Speed Alone]and as well as working hard ..ing this latest piece of music we hope to be back out playing live again from October. At the moment things are going well and the fresh faces have brought a new found enthusiasm for a band that is almost as missplaced as the testament according to Judas. No we don't plan on being world beaters or getting signed to a label and exploding into big stars,we live with our feet planted on the floor and just want to write and perform music that we love and is personal to us.We also hope to share this with you all too and are looking to the rest of this year and most definitely next for some long awaited gigs and the completion of another heartfelt musical escapade put down onto shiny little discs that we can reflect upon in our old age and hopefully you the listener will enjoy and reflect also upon similar experiences so we can all feel that little bit more that we are not alone. We hope to get some songs together and share our music with you soon.
