My Name is Michael A. McKenzie, I am the founder and the Lead Singer of The Band ALIZE. I was born in Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to Brooklyn New York at the age of 5 years old. My Name is Michael A. McKenzie, I am the founder and the Lead Singer of The Band ALIZE. I was born in Jamaica, West Indies and migrated to Brooklyn New York at the age of 5 years old. I guess I am a Jamerican. After a 4-year tour with the US Navy I moved back to Long Island New York. It is there where I got my lessons in music 101. I worked managing a recording artist who had just landed a hit single in the Club market; we went on to do another hit in the same club circuit. I made a visit to Florida and enjoyed the warm weather and the more laid back atmosphere, so I uprooted to Orlando. I decided to go back to my roots with authentic Reggae, and soon after formed a very successful Reggae Group. Although the band has experienced many face changes the sound and recognition for the group kept gaining a strong fan base and was in heavy demand. ALIZE would go on to become discovered by a liquor distributor who was in a club during our performance introducing a new product on the market called ALIZE, Yes, that's right the well known ALIZE (Cognac & Passion fruit blend). The distributor put us in touch with the corporate office that setup an immediate meeting to discuss some possibilities. A few weeks later they brought the band to New York for a special introductory party for the ALIZE product line. We went on to get sponsorship from ALIZE on a few other main events, and we are in the works of recruiting their support once again. ALIZE the band plays mainly around Central Florida, but travels wherever lays the demand. We have touched allot of people from all over the world with our music, and I am happy to know that we have impacted many in a positive way. I remember this lady once told me at a regular venue we played every Sunday, that our music helped her through the week, and it also helped her through some painful times in her life. I was honored to know that, and I felt even more committed to upholding the trust of that fan. Music is like a Medicine, without all the side effects. I am glad to be a positive contributor to the betterment of people.
