Biography

Gaining quite the reputation in less than a year, Omaha, Nebraska's The Broadcast has done nothing less than explode on to the scene. Going from their first show in December of 2008 to quickly entertaining over 3000 fans for the College World Series' opening ceremonies, these boys show no sign of slowing their pace. Mikey Danger, Nick Meyer, Michael Frickel, and David Carney have created catchy, autobiographical songs that say things we wish we thought of first or just didn't know how to say them. Some of those anthems were released on April's Yeah, That Just Happened EP, selling more than 500 copies to date. The EP showcased The Broadcast's use of personal experiences with hints from 80's rock, 90's pop punk, hardcore, and indie to help boost their appeal. In a genre where everything and anything has been done before, these boys shine by doing it better. They also have a hell of a lot more fun doing it than pretty much anyone. The Broadcast's resume might not cover a long span of time, but they've made up for it tenfold with who they have worked with. Refusing to ride the coattails of other local favorites has opened the door and allowed The Broadcast to share the stage with many, including pop mainstay This Providence and Hannah Montana's best friend Mitchell Musso. Pleasing crowds wherever they appear, The Broadcast has gained a massive fan base that has grown exponentially since their EP release. With as much fun as these guys are having, it is hard not to take notice and join the party.
