“The Chimpz Bio” One midsummer night in 2005, Artimus "Art" Prime, a gifted singer and rhythm guitarist, was looking for something better, something out of the ordinary, something other than his 9 to 5 work day world corporate job. Through mutual friends, he met Sean "Cappy" Topham, one of the better drummers in the San Fernando Valley with connections in the music industry. Not too long thereafter along came bass player Tom "Cuzzit" Nave. The basic elements were there and the guys knew they had the chemistry and talent to succeed after just one jam session. After going through two lead guitar players and recording a first album "On Parole", they met Cary "Scary Cary" Singman, lead guitar, and hooked up with vocalist Chuck P. Soon after the Band started playing two shows a month and making a name for themselves as they ripped through Los Angeles. The Chimpz are here to stay. Artimus "Art" Prime has been playing guitar and violin and cello and bass and singing in the school choir since he was a youngster growing up in the toughest part of Canoga Park trying to stay out of trouble. Tom "Cuzzit" Nave left home when he was just seventeen and found himself moving from band to band while living a vagabond existence in Las Vegas, Nevada before stumbling into the then members of The Chimpz and finding his place in the music business. Sean "Cappy" Topham and Art were long time friends jamming around the house when it occurred to them that they should hook up with Cuzzit to form the nucleus of The Chimpz. Cappy has started playing the drums as a twelve year old and joined his first band in high school coming out on top when competing in local talent shows and recognizing that performing as a musician would be his future. Cary "Scary Cary" Singman picked up the guitar when he was only nine years old and tragically lost his teenage guitar playing sister Michelle and hasn't put it down since ... growing up amongst artists and entertainers on the west side of Los Angeles and performing in several bands of different music genres before joining The Chimpz and contributing to their emotion provoking sound. Chuck P., who had written his first rap lyrics as a third grader ... shades of the artist he would become, was a friend of the others and had laid down a track for the guys and kicked in some rap vocals. It wasn't long thereafter that they all knew that the final piece of the puzzle had been found. The Chimpz have toured in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas on the Debauchery Tour and in Utah with The Phlawless Phelons Freestyle Moto Fest and their music has been featured in MTV's Bam Margera's Bam's Unholy Union and Bam Margera's latest movie Bam Margera's "Where The FFF is Santa?" The Chimpz will continue touring and spread The Chimpz message through their punk/hip hop/metal music as it resonates through the heartland of the genre to emancipate yourselves from mental slavery and life's every day struggle. Chimpin' is pimpin'! So blaze one for the nation we are the "Chimpz of creation".
