Composed of 19-year-old keyboardist Cameron Whitelam, 21-year-old bassist/lead singer Nate Maruso, and 20-year-old English-born drummer Ed Willson, The DownTribe mixes new wave and indie genres with alternative piano rock to make a sound that is both innovative and distinct. Composed of 19-year-old keyboardist Cameron Whitelam, 21-year-old bassist/lead singer Nate Maruso, and 20-year-old English-born drummer Ed Willson, The DownTribe mixes new wave and indie genres with alternative piano rock to make a sound that is both innovative and distinct. Since their formation in the summer of 2007 and the release of their debut EP entitled “In Summer,” The DownTribe is quickly rising in the Philadelphia music scene. As the 2008 summer approaches, The DownTribe has plans to return to the studio to finish a full length album while playing major east-coast venues in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Pittsburgh.
