Ted is the lead singer and songwriter of the Famous Wannabes. Born in New Haven, Connecticut his family moved to America's epicenter of Rock, Gainesville Florida when he was 7. Ted has played alongside of other Gainesville greats such as Ken Block from Sister Hazel, Nashville's Britton and Jack, and later roomed with Europe's popular drummer Andre Ferrari while attending Berklee College of Music in the mid '80's. Ted's musical training started after seeing The Police in one of their first US concerts at the University of Florida campus. His Bachelor of Music in performance allowed him to tour the globe as a working musician playing; jazz, rock and pop for many years before settling down to earn a PhD in Behavioral Psychology. After moving to Reno in 1999, Ted's dating woes caused him to write such notable tunes as Jealousy which was recently released in the EP "Free Admission". Playing local shows with the Reno group “the Sweet Peas", Ted's desire to return to the music scene was no surprise for this collector of fine music equipment. "Music was my career before my career in Psychology. I never stopped playing. My hope is that the Famous Wannabes are able to perform with many talented musicians. To keep making memories and provide fans with more than what they paid for. That's how I felt when I saw my first Police show, concert going was an event and the players never looked at their watches. I want to make music accessible to everyone. Thankfully, there are many musicians who feel the way I do so the environment is generally supportive.” Ted Boyce 5/20/08.
