A bit about how we got here. "Francis" was initially conceived by singer/songwriter Remy Boccalatte, during travel abroad. His return to Australia saw a quickly recorded 5 track ep entitled "Perfect moment destruction tactics" (recorded by David Platzer) and was independently released under the name "Intimate with Emily." Shortly after this, a band was formed comprising of close high school friends (Ben Vlad, Mitchell Savage, Alex Escobar, Josh Weller). The band played for over a year and recorded a short self titled album that was never released. Intimate with Emily then split when Remy decided to pursue further travel. The relocation found him in Vancouver where he began playing solo shows again under the name "Francis." Again, once returning to Australia, Remy contacted his old band mates to help him record a selection of newly inspired songs. Mitchell Savage was brought back to play drums and Ben, as well as producing the album, played guitar and ambient electronics. The new addition, Ziad Samman joined in on bass and rounded out the four. These sessions became Francis's debut ep "Putting Sounds into Pictures." This release is an audible illustration of five tracks recorded in 2006, simply decorating the complexity of change. The ep is a vessel of honesty, exploration and questions, resolving into a myriad of thoughts only limited to the ears of the listener. Sometimes soft, sometimes screaming, Francis is the perfect mix of melody and emotion. Francis is constantly evolving.. With the recent addition of Kane Mazlin ..board and part time cellist Braxton Neate, Francis' sound is now able to expand and contract far greater distances than ever
