The Good News was formed in the summer of 2009, originally consisting of Steve Catania, Will Paquette, Tolani Oyefule, and Tinuke Oyefule (keys, vocals). During the following year, Tinuke moved to California to pursue her acting career. TGN remained a 4-piece for a year, while incorporating various guest musicians on recordings such as Ed Moman (Wynrise) and Adam Jaskol (Cocktail Party Phenomenon). Towards the end of 2010, TGN added a new fifth member in Kyle Pehlman to complete the group.
