THE HWY 50 BAND
The Hwy 50 Band was formed by Rusty Roberson and Lee Grimes in 2006. Collaborating together they wrote their first original 10 song CD called Changing Lanes. Their sound has been described as contemporary southern rock, but more aptly fits more into the mold of Americana. Drawing from influences such as rock, country, blue grass, soul and rhythm and blues their sound is unmistakable. One of the tracks from Changing Lanes called Ninety Nine has been selected for a scene in the upcoming movie Burning Bright starring Brianna Evigan. Currently playing Central Florida the band consists of Rusty Roberson (Lead guitar, vocals), Lee Grimes ( acoustic guitar, vocals), Johnny Harrell (Drums, vocals), John Prince (bass guitar, vocals), and Jack Pearson (Harmonica, flute, sax, vocals). At this time they are writing music for their second CD which is slated for release in 2010.
