Sound The Alarm
Forget about King James. New rock-pop-soul act The Manhattan Scene is the next big thing to come out of Northeast Ohio and singer-pianist-guitarist Brian-Marcel Edmond, singer-keyboardist Brandon-Marshall Edmond, drummer Tim Depasquale, bassist Danny Thompson and guitarists Matthew and Ryan Augusta have become the heirs to the throne
The Manhattan Scene, formerly "The Long Drive Home" began playing shows in October 2009. "The early days were kind of rough on us because we didn't really understand who we were and what we were about, but after adding Brandon and Ryan to the band, the decision to leave the familiarity of acoustic rock for a more energetic sound made the most sense" says singer Brian-Marcel.
Since the rebirth of the band under the name The Manhattan Scene in January 2010, this band of brothers (literally) finds itself on the brink of releasing its first full length album titled "Constellations" (due out Summer 2010.)
In order to turn their rough and unpolished material into the finely-tuned, radio-friendly sound you hear now, the “Hatt Pack” enlisted the services of long time friend (and producer/engineer) Jeff Toy. With his help, the band turned "Constellations," originally set to be a 5 song ep, into their first full length album, featuring fan-favorite "Waste of Time", "Sound The Alarm", and the revamped version of "It’s You", the song that started it all in 2009.
"The album has a little bit of something for everyone" says Bassist Danny Thompson. "We tried to combine the best elements of rock, r&b and pop, which I believe gives us a unique sound."
"Bad Girl", the Manhattan Scene’s first single, can be heard all over the college radio airwaves. This hype has the band looking forward to hitting the road this fall. When asked about the tour, synth/vocalist Brandon-Marshall replied, "It'll be good to see how people outside of our region react to our songs and our live show." Brian-Marcel quickly adds with a smile: "I, for one, am counting down the days until we get to take over everyone elses towns."
With the addition of their newest tunes including live show mainstays "Back on the Road", “I Don't Mind" and "Favorite Girl", The Manhattan Scene is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
