Hailing from San Diego, CA, The Material has catapulted into the national limelight of up-and-coming bands. Hailing from San Diego, CA, The Material has catapulted into the national limelight of up-and-coming bands. With their debut EP release "Tomorrow", The Material has effectively attracted attention from multiple media outlets including television, internet, radio, and even video games. Fans of The Material have made their presence known voting for The Material out of 4,000 bands to perform live on MTV's Dew Circuit Breakout, and by purchasing over 250,000 downloads to date of The Material's song "Moving to Seattle" on the video game Rock Band. The Material has had songs featured on MTV's "The Hills", the WB's "Sorority Forever", and has had their video for the song "The Truth About Reality" featured on MTV2. In March 2010, The Material released their single "What Happens Next" which is now the opening theme song to the Australian hit reality TV series "Freshwater Blue" which debuted December 2, 2010 on MTV. With three national tours under their belt, The Material has created a huge underground following made up of extremely supportive fans. After touring the US and Canada last fall, The Material moved to Portland to write their new record. In June 2010 The Material teamed up with producer Brian Grider to record their debut full length album "What We Are" which was released in Hot Topic stores and in all digital outlets on 1/11/11. The band performed on the 2010 Motel 6 "Rock Yourself To Sleep" Tour with Every Avenue, There for Tomorrow, Sing it Loud and The Secret Handshake and on the 2010 Warped Tour in San Diego. The Material is currently on a national CD release tour, playing in a town near you. "Unforgivable", the single off the latest EP is being played on numerous West Coast radio stations, as well as college stations around the US and Canada. The song was also recently featured on CBS' Channel One network which reaches millions of high school students everyday. "Moving To Seattle", the single off of The Material's EP "Tomorrow" is avaliable for download on the videogame Rock Band.
