Eugene Martin is a 2008 Media Arts Fellowship Awardee from the Penna. Council on the Arts and a winner of the 2008 Junior Faculty Teaching Award in SCT. Martin is a producer/writer/director whose work has been released and won awards internationally since 1988. Eugene Martin is a 2008 Media Arts Fellowship Awardee from the Penna. Council on the Arts and a winner of the 2008 Junior Faculty Teaching Award in SCT. Martin is a producer/writer/director whose work has been released and won awards internationally since 1988. Much of his work centers on the lives of children, from his hard hitting drama, "Edge City", (released by Lions Gate, Sony Music, and Palm Pictures, 2003 to present), to his feature film, "The Other America" (which was the Opening Night film at the 2004 Slamdance Film Festival), a story that centers on a homeless teen. He has written and directed 6 feature films. They include: Invisible Cities, Two Plus One, Edge City, Diary of a City Priest, The Other America and The Bloodlines Video Diary Project. His work has been released worldwide, and screened in film festivals such as Sundance, Berlin, San Francisco, the Hamptons, and The American Film Institute. Diary of a City Priest, starring acclaimed actor David Morse, was a co-production with the Independent Television Service (ITVS) as a show for national PBS. It was an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival. The Beirut Boys, a television show for Ch. 35 Independence Media is due in Summer '08.
