About The Roughneck Riot
Warrington, United Kingdom
Started March 2005, The Roughneck Riot hailed as one of Warringtons most energetic, raucous and messy punk bands with a sound that could turn holy water to piss. Since these early days, the band has progressed from the 4 piece bunch of teenage guys to the 6 piece orchestra of twisted celtic punk rockers you see today!
"The Roughneck Riot were a breath of air so fresh that it was like being transported from this stuffy venue to a Scottish glen. Full of energy and with more rock and rollism in them than a barrel of Embraces, they blasted punk-folk at us until the majority were unable to resist dancing"
Jon Martin -
BBC2 Mancunian Blues Archive
"Roughneck Riot on the second stage have it well and truly packed out...Even though the sun is beating down, the tent is rammed'" www.efestivals.co.uk
"Take the Roughneck challenge: go and watch this band without: 1) Enjoying yourself 2) Feeling you are in the presence of gods!"
"The Roughneck Riot are a crazy 6 peice band - the mentalism of the show is a great pleasure to watch and to be a part of"

"These guys are gonna be very very big one day. They've fucking got it all; great songs, amazing showmanship and a good following!"
Mike McColgan (Street Dogs)
"What a bloody good show it was, celtic folky punk was what we got and was played at speed with relish by a band capable of holding their own in much bigger pits of peril"
"This initial first impression was quickly destroyed within minutes of The Roughneck Riot exploding a sound that totally blew my head off. This was The Pogues, The Clash and Johnny Cash all thrown into a concrete mixer and brought up to date for a new generation"
