The Talented Tenth was born in Los Angeles, CA when two artists met in a studio session and the rest they say is history. They are both from the south Westside Clyde born in Augusta, GA and raised in North Carolina and Lockmsith raised in Kentucky. The Talented Tenth believe their music represents the time for a change with and return to good old funk soul from the heart. They believe that currently the masses are searching for a ray of light to feed upon and have been providing that spark to shine the light. The Talented Tenth's music is rooted in their personal experiences as generation X black men in America who have traveled and lived internationally. We live our life as an example of how still there are too many ill conceived stereotypes some new some old. Yet we continue to be bold and over the top in our energy, lyrics and stage presence. Its a new positive funk!!!
