At the end of 2004, two old friends (Mauro and Gavel) meet again and decide to form a band due to some ideas of the past that were surrounding their heads. Both, who had played in different bands and places for a long time, start searching for the rest of members for their project. In 2005 they contact with Juan, a guitar player who was living in Santiago. In a few weaks Juan moves to Lalin and because of his great aptitudes for music he's admitted in the band. Now the next step was finding a drummer. That would happen a little bit later when Gavel, thanks to close people, contacts with a young musician from Bandeira called Pepe Luis, who also had a lot of experience with other bands. Listening to a demo previously recorded by Gavel and Mauro, Pepe accepts this challenge without looking back. The only thing they needed to complete the formation was a singer. At the beginning of 2006, they contact with Nelson, who had been living in Lalin for two years. The singer progressively fits in the band while the other members try to do the same with his vocal style. Months after this, the band feels completely adjusted and a new project called 'The Underside' is started.At the end of 2007 and due to several problems, The Underside decides to give up playing without thinking about a posible reunification. Before this separation, Gavel, Nelson and Bertin, a close friend of both, had started playing in their free time as a hobby until in the middle of 2008 the three decide to bring back The Underside. In July of the same year, Nelson meets again an old colleague called Alex, who was the bass player of an old band from Rodeiro. They all start playing and writting new material hoping to find a drummer. The band couldn't get anyone for the drummer position so they decide to contact with Pepe, asking him to join once again to The Underside. The answer is yes, so the band starts playing now in its entirety. After a couple of months, the band gives its first live show since almost a year.Nowadays, The Underside keeps writing some new material for what is supposed to be their next work.
