When you think of Hip-Hop you think of Wu-Tang, Nas, Big Pun, Biggie, Jay-Z, Etc. Etc. A lot of critics are quick to say Hip-Hop has been Replaced by Trap Music. Well Tito Cali is not here to show that Hip-Hop is not dead better yet he is here to show that Hip-Hop has EVOLVED. Tito Cali, 20, grew up listening to those greats listed above. A Left Wing Hip-Hop Head he knows its time for a change not so much as to how the music is composed or the content of the music as most Die Hard Hip Hop Lovers say. But on the contrary he Feels the QUALITY of it needs to improve. The Lyricism the Finesse of the artistry needs to come back. Born in Queens, NY to illegal Colombian parents. His father Ivan incarcerated at age 4, Mother, Pilar, working 2 jobs to keep the lights on he knows all to well the struggle and hardships that most minoritys endure on a day to day basis. At age 7 he found his true love when he heard DMX get played on HOT97 he speaks vividly of that day "I heard the pain, emotion & hunger with which he delivered the lyrics, now this was Pre Ruff Ryder Anthem DMX and I remember my mother punching me in the car for repeating all his curse words (laughing)". Its those kind of words that let you know where his music love comes from. Ever since the age 15 when he first stepped foot inside a vocal booth. He knew Hip-Hop this thing White America calls Destructive but he views as the truest art form in music history to verbalize one's thoughts, was his calling. As Tito Cali "anybody can put words together, but how many can truly deliver it in a poetic way. I mean take the Bible for example, PSLAMS & Proverbs is ALL poetry. The metaphors; the words which were used. More importantly how they were used to describe the image for you to picture it. Its pure poetry and thats exactly what i do threw these songs i'm giving you poetry " Shows you that he loves the art form of lyricism. Tito Cali has had his share of run in's with the law in his teenage years. From being in gangs, to selling drugs. The people in his community know him for the bad that he has done. Which is the reason he decided to relocate to be able to show the same people he hurt that theres a better way. Showing his maturity with quotes such as "yeah i gangbanged, yeah i sold drugs. But what do i get from glamorizing it threw my music? you know what i get? let me tell you the blood of these young kids that listen to it and believe that they need to commit those crimes to be like there favorite rapper". Instead he says he will speak of those crimes but the reason he have made them and how we must change it. With songs such as Only If They Knew in which he spits " STOPED GANGBANGING SO MY LIFE COULD ADVANCE, DID IT FOR MY MOTHER HOPE MY NIGGAS UNDERSTAND, CLIMBED OUT OF HELL & I DID IT WITH THESE HANDS, WHERE IM FROM PEOPLE SAY THEY NEVER CAN". Make's you feel the sincerity of his word & the revolutionary mind he has. "I just want to bring back what Pac (Tupac) brought to the table, you know, not being afraid to show emotion to show that Hispanic & Blacks do have hearts unlike popular belief in the suburban households (laughs)" but still Tito Cali has the music which is very much intone with pop culture. Now at age 20, he feels he has the formula to achieve what his ancestors have not been able to achieve threw music. Which is to show society that Latino's are here to stay that they are no longer the minority's that they are the MAJORITY.
