I have been studying music and percussion for 19 years. I’ve had the privilege to participate and perform with various groups and ensembles throughout High School, College, Drum Corps, and Freelance work. My passion for the drum set began at age 11 when I studied at a local music store in Centerville, OH sharing an hour with my Dad. Throughout the remainder of High School and College I immersed myself in the world of marching percussion marching with Capital Regiment and The Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and also Rhythm-X Indoor Percussion Ensemble. It was here on the field where I found my love of performing.
I have never really classified my playing style into any specific genre, as being versatile is an important trait for any drummer. I’ve adapted and applied several concepts that are introduced in a marching percussion environment to my independent and professional study such as: rhythmic accuracy, sound quality, professionalism, and above all else a disciplined work ethic. My goal is to be able to apply myself to any musical or stylistic setting. Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of performing in a wide variety of venues ranging from clubs, stadiums, arenas and even Los Angeles’s prestigious Hollywood Bowl.
In 2007, I joined the Alternative Rock Quartet: NEEDMORE, filling the role as drummer, percussionist, and backing vocalist. NEEDMORE recorded their Self-Titled debut album with Del-Fi Music Group (Universal Music Group (InGrooves) Distribution) in 2009. Also, in 2010 NEEDMORE released their latest single “Lost My Way” under their own representation. NEEDMORE has had the opportunity to support Major Label acts such as: The Gym Class Heroes, Tyrone Wells, and OneRepublic as well as headline Clubs and Colleges Nationwide.
In 2010 I had the great honor of joining the artist roster for Innovative Percussion, Evans Drumheads, and PlanetWaves Cables and I proudly endorse their products.
I’m currently residing with my wife and daughter in Dayton, OH. In between touring with NEEDMORE, I instruct the Centerville High School drumline as well as teach private lessons in the greater Dayton area.
