Town started as Courtney Welbon writing songs on her acoustic guitar cultivating her potential as a musician and lyricist. Soon after, she expanded from a solo act to include percussionist Kyle Paula (Scottie), for his universally influenced style. For a while, the band was but a duo. The two gained recognition from fellow students, one being guitarist Harlan Pocquette, who started talks with Courtney of joining the band. As a trio, the band gigged for months, exploring Miami’s music scene. In June 2010, the band struck a relationship with Gibson Guitar Corporation through Miami’s artist representative, Brad Berman. Lacking a full ensemble sound, Kyle recommended adding bassist Sebastian Zinca and pianist Manny Vidales, who attended school with him. Town emerged. Around the start of 2011, the band was recognized by KPFB Entertainment, a management company started by Ashley Dixon at the University of Miami. The band is currently working on their debut EP. Single "Sleep Soundly,Love" is now on iTunes and full EP out in April 2011.
