About Tricia Scully

Libertyville, IL

Receiving her first guitar as an unexpected holiday gift at the age of 5(ish), Tricia's interest in music was prodded and poked. Not taking full advantage of that beginner guitar until the age of 14, she spent her early years focusing on singing along to her parents' Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, and Prince albums until her vocal cords went raw.

Picking the guitar back up in middle school, Tricia forged her way into the Northern Chicago suburban music scene as a female front-woman in a few different bands. Halfway through college, she found herself in a semi-succesful indie-rock band called Tall Tale. However, her studies sent her to Paris, France for half a year, and the band broke up.

In Paris, Tricia rekindled her love for her acoustic guitar. She went around playing open mics every week, and was able to develop her own solo sound in the grungy but welcoming bars of the historic city.

Upon her return, she switched back to her electric guitar, but kept that acoustic finger-ficking style she developed in France. She added effect pedals to her act, and pushed her vocal capabilities further and further.

Pulling from past experiences and new ones, Tricia is now a confident guitarist and vocalist who is able to stand on her own as a solo musician, or add to the larger works of collaborating musicians.
