By August, Hunt and drummer Sijal Nasralla played the first Two Planes gig at East Asheville's Root Bar with local student rock act John Wilkes Boothe and the Black Toothe. Nasralla's membership in Two Planes lasted about 2 weeks, as Nasralla and Lance Lanthrop were forming the drum-and-bass noise act No Shoulders. In October, after shuffling through practices with roomate Mike Henderson and drummer Ian Limerick, Hunt decided to go solo with Two Planes. In early October, right before Fall break, Hunt came to Ian Galdy to record solo demos with drum machine, guitar, and keyboard. Galdy enjoyed the recording and mixing, and after fall break joined Two Planes as 'Plane 2.'
