Born in Bedford Stuyvesant to a single mother and abandoned by his father and warring ‘families’ (Italian/Puerto Rican), Saint, aka Sick Saint, quickly relocated to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn when his house was burned to the ground.  Hardships escalated when his mother turned to drugs to escape the harsh realities of life on welfare and no options.   At the age of 3 Saint could often be spotted in bars stealing quarters off pool tables to play arcade games while his mother and step father partied nearby. Introspective from birth, Saint developed a knack for lurking in the shadows unseen, ever observant of the scene.  This skill kept him alive throughout the years as he survived multiple armed stick ups, burglaries, street riots, near-death illnesses and accidents, and various ‘dealings’ gone wrong.   Influenced by artists and poets such as NAS, DMX, Cypress Hills, Immortal Technique, Mos Def, Piri Thomas, and others, Saint wandered into the NYC poetry scene and found an audience for his raw, dark, and revealing poems.  Saint quickly built a buzz on the scene and was featured in ‘Urban Scribes’, a Princeton University sponsored documentary produced by Jane Han highlighting up-and-coming urban poets in NYC.  Performing at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, CBGB's, Bar 13, Bowery Poetry Club, other events hosted by Poet's House, Princeton University and Youth Speaks events.   Life decisions led Saint from the poetry scene only to reemerge with two debut music singles, ‘U R Not Ready’, and ‘Black Out‘, under the indie label ‘Die Hard Ent’.  Also writing under the alias of Sick Saint, be sure to follow him through the various twists and turns as he expresses what’s lurking in his mind.
