The band started out with Mitch and Sina writing songs ranging from heavy metal to soft alternative to funk to garage rock. After experimenting with their sound, they found a drummer in Trevor. They were still short of a singer, so an ad was posted and Ryan answered the call. The band started out with Mitch and Sina writing songs ranging from heavy metal to soft alternative to funk to garage rock. After experimenting with their sound, they found a drummer in Trevor. They were still short of a singer, so an ad was posted and Ryan answered the call. The band came up with it's first name: Dionysus and found the sound that they were looking for, that fine line between hard rock, grunge and alternative rock. As time passed Dionysus was forced to change their name due the fact there was a metal band in Germany that copyrighted the name. After some time, bickering and an audience member named Daniel shouting out a random name, the band changed the name to Unholy Grail.
