Unwed Fathers was established in 2007 and is currently based in Austin, TX. Founded by vocalist/guitarist David Olvera (ex-Games and Theory), the singer songwriter project started with a voice and an acoustic guitar. Later other musician friends joined in to help round out the sound. Within compositions of a hard life, lovers, and friends, the listener might pick up the sounds of an acoustic guitar, banjo, violin, piano, keyboard, plus various other percussion and strings.

You can find Unwed Fathers performing on a regular basis in the bars and venues of Austin, TX. After the recent Pacific Northwest tour, Unwed Fathers is currently writing and recording the follow up EP to the full length CD Does Anyone Remember Lily White? released in August 2009. Mastered by Justin Smith, the full length recording was the first official release by Unwed Fathers and is currently still available.
Unwed Fathers performs every first Friday at Thunderbird Coffee on Manor Rd in Austin. Other local venues for ongoing shows include Red 7, The Hole in the Wall, Plush, Varsity Bar, the Parlor, and music events like the Old Pecan Street Festival,SXSW,etc.
