Via Rustica was born in Bogota, Colombia in 2005. VR is the representative band of the new reggae generation in Colombian music. Via Rustica was born in Bogota, Colombia in 2005. VR is the representative band of the new reggae generation in Colombian music. The band has a wide stage experience with international artists like The Wailers (Jamaica), Cultura Profética (Puerto Rico), Gondwana (Chile), Kafu Banton (Panama), Alika (Argentina), Papa Shanty (Venezuela), Los Cafres (Argentina). VR have published two albums: “EP Siembra” (2006) and “Razón Para Actuar” (2008). They are currently producing their second album in order to release it this year (2011), starting with two new singles titled: “Alto al Fuego” and “¿Dónde estás?”, whose videoclip began being shown by MTV Latino channel. This promotional EP was published and distributed by Lapopular Music. Their musical production and composition have a characteristic dynamics, which consist of moving through the most outstanding reggae genres like Dancehall, Raggamuffing and Lover Rock. The band also includes elements from hip-hop, funk, rock, Afro and Colombian music.
